My Passion is Compassion

The law is not just my profession. It is my calling, and compassion for my clients is my compass. With 10 years of trial and litigation experience, I know how to be an uncompromising advocate for my clients, who never loses sight of my clients’ goals. But, I also know that you are possibly feeling scared or anxious or ashamed. Whatever allegations you are facing, I can help. I am not a judge – I am a fighter. If you want a compassionate, zealous advocate on your side, please contact me. I can't wait to meet with you so we can fight the system together.

Ten Years of Trial Experience

Over 10 years of legal practice, I have taken over 50 different cases to trial, including Homicide, Robbery, Sexual Assault, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Drug Crimes, as well as DUIs, Domestic Violence, and Child Abuse

With degrees from Duke University and Colorado Law, I joined the Colorado State Public Defender's Office in Denver County where I practiced as a trial attorney for six years.  The State's Public Defender's Office offers nationally-recognized training for lawyers that is unparalleled in the private sector.  As a public defender and in private practice, I have represented adults and juveniles charged with felonies and misdemeanors. I have helped clients charged with almost every kind of crime that exists in Colorado.  I also served 15 months in Denver County treatment courts, so I have a lot of experience with clients’ struggling with substance abuse.

With over 10 years of experience, I have honed my litigation skills in dozens of trials and hundreds of motions hearings and other litigation.  Several clients and cases left an indelible impression on me.

One case was a domestic violence case, which I took to trial.  My client was adamant that no domestic violence had occurred, but the police and the prosecutor believed the complaining witness; despite witnesses and factual evidence that directly contradicted her story.  We fought hard at trial.  I confronted a police officer on the stand who tried to alter his version of events to help the prosecution's case.  I also got the complaining witness to contradict herself.  After the jury acquitted my client, the prosecutor came up to me and shook my hand saying, “I mean this as a compliment. You are a bulldog.”

I have a passion for fighting for people and their constitutional rights and advocating for change in our judicial system. You don’t have to fight your case alone. I can guide you to a successful resolution of your case. Please contact me so we can start fighting your case together!
